ABSTRACT PAINTINGS

Line is a very important concept in art. It defines a border, it divides one thing from another. Line is what the eye needs or creates to form a difference between two things. Line creates the boundary for which a work is defined. Line can be an element by itself, always the start of a drawing, and can encompass every aspect of the drawing, including contours, shadow and edge. Line leads the eye, whether it is in perspective or reference. I basically create things with line for years, where an illustration may be composed of millions of individual lines to define shape, muscle fibers and even eyelashes.

Here, I reintroduce the viewer to line in abstract paintings. In some of the paintings, a line stands alone as sharp contrast and sublime ray into a field of hues, in other paintings, a line separates a texture of colors and directs the viewer to an escape in shapes.
